The Lab, a non-profit experimental art space, has evolved over the past years into a remarkable platform for creative expression and research. Its unique platform acts like a creative laboratory, where artists can experiment with new ideas and explore the complex connections within the art world. It brings together curators, artists, and spaces to investigate how artworks, audiences, and creators interact. The Lab goes beyond traditional ways of showcasing art, encouraging artists to freely express themselves and delve into meaningful research.
Each year, a distinguished jury carefully selects ten artists, granting them the opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant artistic landscape of Tel Aviv. The curator Sharon Toval works with the artists, guiding and mentoring them through every step of the curatorial process. He initially created The Lab as a space for local art exploration and a venue for unrestricted creation and freedom of expression; over the years it has blossomed into a diverse ecosystem of artists, curators, collectors, gallerists, and appreciators.
Situated on Herzl Street 119, Tel Aviv,
The Lab welcomes visitors on Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, offering a glimpse into the dynamic world of experimental art.

RESEARCHER AND INDEPENDENT CONTEMPORARY ART CURATOR
I am an independent art curator and Earth is my true office space. I was raised in France and actually work and create in Tel-Aviv. I research, study, analyze, develop, and create. I fill spaces around us with innovative thinking, unconventional curating, and ways to create new appealing experiences for the audience.
I received my Master's degree in Policy and Theory of the Arts from Israel's most prestigious art academy, the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. I studied museology for a year at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, where my mentor was Head Curator Yigal Zalmona. I've owned and curated The Lab for the last few years, one of the few art spaces in Israel dedicated to experimenting with art, its boundaries, definitions, concepts, and visual outcomes. Every year, I conduct research in The Lab with 10 different artists. Raised in France and Israel, with multi-culturalism as my self-identity, my understanding of the world of art and its nature is vast and limitless.
My vision is to build artistic bridges that will overcome the sociopolitical and geographical crises we are facing in this new era of the 21st century’s first decades. We human beings are all the same. We all seek unique artistic ways to express joy, sadness, hope, and belonging. My mission is to create this cultural visual prism. I am certain that mankind can and will cross all bridges because it is a single entity that politics, religion, and ideologies want to divide but that art can and will bring together.
