ACTIVATE COMPLEX MECHANISMS TO LISTEN — CONTROL THE SOUND

NIR JACOB YOUNESSI

The interactive sound installation Particle comprised three unique setups. Mirror featured a video projection where the viewer’s shadow activated an entire digital world, while Fountain invited visitors to produce various sounds by touching different heights of a cascading waterfall. In Vibrations, pigments were animated by touch, allowing users to visually experience sound. Unlike traditional sound installations that engage only the auditory sense, Particle encouraged visitors to activate complex mechanisms to generate sounds they could control in diverse ways.
This technological approach resembled photography, capturing sound as a product of intentional actions and spatial placement.
