GAME THAT MOVES BETWEEN THE PERCEPTUAL LINE — BOUNDARY
Eyal Segal's video installation explored multiple layers of discourse, engaging Israeli culture, socio-political and existential themes, and the tensions between life and death, heaven and earth. His works navigated the thematic and perceptual boundaries within these subjects. Eyal employed various video genres, including Moses, a short documentary following a man from the Hatikva neighborhood—a “post-Salah Shabati” figure—who spends his days searching for lost treasures beneath Israel’s coastal sands. This “fantasy detector” offers a socio-political reflection, questioning whether Israel exists as a utopian ideal or a grounded reality.
