A NEW SPATIAL AND CONCEPTUAL REALITY — PREDEFINED CODES AND POSSIBILITIES
Sapir Gez, one of The Lab's young artists for the 2021-22 cycle, transformed the space into an installation of rotating white canvas carousels. The audience was free to create on the blank canvases. There were different paints and other craft materials on the floor between each carousel, only one person could be in the "cell" at a time. The installation investigated modes of display and creation in a space defined as an art space, emphasizing the physical movements controlled and enabled by The Lab's new structure. As a result, the installation created a new spatial and conceptual reality, with predefined and finite codes and possibilities.
