GREEN LUNG THAT SURROUNDS THE CHAMBERS OF THE — HEART AND ITS ATRIA

Rotem Reshef, a multidisciplinary artist and member of The Lab's collective, presented a monumental painting and sound installation exploring the connections between abstraction, spirituality, and Israeli reality. The installation, titled "Heartfelt Event," invited visitors to merge their personal experiences with the collective pulse of society, reflecting powerful social, political, and economic processes.
The heart-like structure provided a transcendent experience through light, sound, and paintings. Reshef integrated recordings of protesters’ chants and the rhythmic sounds of drums from Balfour Street in Jerusalem, capturing both anger and hope and placed them within the heart chambers of the installation. These organs encoded secrets and emotions, while urging the audience to connect with the beats of time and ongoing history. The "green lung" surrounding the heart’s chambers offered a space for reflection, healing, and potential recovery.
