DEPICTIONS OF MONSTERS — SET AGAINST AN ABSTRACT FLORAL BACKGROUND

RESPIRA offered a compelling painting installation, remarkable for both its multi-disciplinary artistry and emotional resonance. For the first time, painter Lili Cohen Prah-Ya deconstructed her painting into fundamental elements—substrate, material, and form—crafting an installation that evoked the feeling of entering a forbidden space. Through this deconstruction, she explored and perhaps sought a resolution for painful chapters of her personal life.
Her innovative use of paper as a sculptural medium, combined with poetic depth and haunting beauty, created an emotional impact that lingered. Monsters emerged across abstract floral backgrounds on crumpled paper, inviting viewers into an immersive experience that was both achingly raw and inspiring.
